In the middle of a construction site in Hunan Province, China, construction workers were in awe at what they found while excavating through the grounds. A well-preserved corpse of a finely dressed man startled them all. After all, it is not everyday that you discover a body that lived centuries before you were born!
The man’s body was still intact as it was sealed and preserved in a coffin built out of limestone and fine wood.
The well-preserved corpse was then analyzed and learned that the man was one of the Wang family’s ancestor. However, the time or the dynasty the man lived was not determined. Experts just said that based on their analysis, the body that was found lived either in the time of the Ming Dynasty which ruled from 1368 to 1644 AD or Qing Dynasty that ruled from ruled 1644 to 1912 AD.
Based on the fine clothes that the corpse is wearing and the preserving materials that were used in his coffin, the discovered body was possibly a part of the high-ranked society back in his days, according to what the State Administration of Cultural Heritage of China officials said.
In the meantime, construction works in the construction site where the corpse was found was put on hold. It is also indefinite until when the Cultural Heritage Administration will be holding the construction at the said place. The remains was then transferred at a different site for further studies.
